Poker is a card game in which players attempt to win by matching cards. A standard playing card deck has 52 distinct cards. The suits are Hearts and Diamonds (red) and Clubs and Spades (black). Each suit contains an Ace, nine cards numbered two to ten, and three face cards (J, Q, and K). Each card in the deck has a specific rank, and a different suit if it is a joker.

The player who has the highest-ranking hand wins the pot. This pot is the total amount of money that was bet during a hand. If the player’s hand is a draw, however, the pot is divided amongst the remaining players. When the players are still in the game, they may decide to fold their cards.

In casual poker games, the dealer button is used to mark the nominal dealer. The dealer deals the cards to all players. The dealer button is typically a white plastic disk that indicates the nominal dealer and the order of betting. The dealer deals the cards clockwise around the table. As each player makes a wager, they must make sure to check the other player’s cards before making their decision.

In this situation, a pair of kings isn’t a terrible hand. If Brad folds, he probably doesn’t have a pair of aces. Charley, on the other hand, has a pair of aces, which is not so good.
