Poker

Succession is the act of discarding your hand, if you have a pair of higher cards and no pairs. The other option, known as folding, means that you have given up the chance to compete for the pot. While the last option is less desirable, it’s still a viable option if you have better than pairs. However, this is not always possible. If you’ve made it all the way to the final table, you should never fold!

The game is a blend of several earlier games. It is said that the name “Poker” was attached to the game by Jonathan H. Green, an American physician who observed people playing a cheating game on a Mississippi riverboat. He described the game as played by two to four players using a deck of twenty cards, and only the Aces. Then he used these same rules to name the game.

The game of poker is almost always played with chips. The number of chips varies, but the lowest-valued chip is the white chip. There are four types of chips, namely red, blue, and black. When a game has more than seven players, the game is called a stud. In addition to a pair of black chips, there are five colored cards – aces and kings. The players usually buy in for the same amount.
